Biographical Info
Maki @ Mountain Dreams Gallery
Now operating for its 10th year on Tamborine Mountain, our gallery is a show-case for the art of Maki Horanai, a celebrated artist who has her work in homes all over the world. Maki is a painter, who studied art in her birth country Japan, and has combined her roots with European art in a unique and immediately recognizable style, that invites and transports the viewer into her special world.
Maki also works in ceramics, creating dishes, cups and quirky houses and birds, sometimes combining them with her paintings. She and her partner Hillel, who writes poems inspired by her paintings, also create books, cards, and prints of Maki’s paintings and Hillel’s poems on handmade paper.
All of these are available at their home gallery, which has handicap access, toilet facilities and convenient parking for cars and small buses. Maki and Hillel live upstairs and can open the gallery for you anytime!
Just give them a call.
